Using Virtual Character

Why don’t I use my personal photos on professional platforms?

I do not prefer to use my own photos on platforms such as Discord and Twitter, as well as on these platforms that are used for more professional purposes such as Github, LinkedIn, Medium.

Besides, I don’t prefer to use photos in my CV. (Most companies in Turkey still want a CV with a photo.)

So why don’t I use it?

I think it’s wrong to make the first impression based on the body/image. I think our work experience, our volunteering activities are more important than our smiling photo. 😁

It’s clear that our photos affect our first impression, good/bad. As a solution, I created a virtual character to represent me.

Meet Mely. 😁

From now on she will represent me herself. I believe it will help me stand out from the HR algorithms.

She was born in 2021 but her soul was born in october 1997. 😶

I don’t think it’s right for us to completely transfer ourselves to the virtualized world. In fact, I believe we should all have this virtual character.

Maybe in this way, we can protect our own self and create an environment of equal competition.

I am trying to integrate English into my life. I will try to write articles like this again on different topics.

Thanks for your interest, see you soon! 💛
